Sweater Weather- Venus conjunct Moon in Synastry

This is a powerful bonding aspect between two people. The inner comforts and needs of one person meet the loving nature of another in a warm and familiar embrace. A sense of familiarity even with other big differences between the people is underling their nonverbal interactions. The attachment styles of both people would be put on full volume like a soundtrack of a musical in full swing.

The way I would describe it is like the feeling you get when you step into a room or a store and your favorite childhood song is playing quietly in the background. It could be a song you know well and don’t like anymore. The Moon and Venus in everyone charts are not perfect and often have hard aspects from other planets. Nevertheless, a sense of something you know and recognize would seep into your skin around each other. If other aspects suggest attraction and good communication this meeting of Moon-Venus would feel like the most nurturing, warm and caring dynamic that would make you two feel like family or long lost relatives.

In this dynamic the Moon person is most likely to be a little more apprehensive or even unsure about all this warm affection coming from the Venus person. The Venus person would feel protective of the feelings and comfort of the Moon person and would shower them with anything they desire. The love language of the Venus person is going to awaken in the presence of the Moon person. In any shared space the hidden needs of the Moon person would tigger a reaction of affection in the Venus person. An Earth Venus would want to give material comforts while an Air Venus would perhaps offer support and conversation. This aspect is amazing at teaching both people how to show care and love in ways that are very vulnerable and simple.

The Moon and Venus are the feminine part of the psyche and therefore they are both very open to receiving. The inner world of the Moon person is going to melt into the Venus person’s sense of lovability. If the Moon person feels on edge or closed off it can really make the Venus person feel like how they love is not enough. In turn if the Moon person feels like the Venus person is holding back from their affection it can make them feel like a lonely lost child. These two people need one another and it is best they admit it. This aspect awakens all our sensitive desires to be accepted and found beautiful. We want to know the other person can accept our passive parts and respond with kindness.

This aspect is most useful for people who live together or share an artistic hobby. In the case of the former, the way the Venus person shows love during routine daily interactions is going to be very soothing and nurturing to the Moon person and the way the Moon person reacts on instinct to the show of affection from the Venus person is going to be very validating to the Venus person.

In fact, thus dynamic of back and forth can be almost addictive and very tempting to escape into even when real problems need solving. The warm endless pit of the inner embrace between the two lovers can at times be a distraction from important conflicts. It is addictive in the same way a baby can’t let go of this mother or let her ever leave. The attachment if focused on gratification in Venus or Moon form. If the attachment style of either individual is unhealthy it can easily become more like a toxic bond. Yet even in those difficult cases where the Venus-Moon becomes a selfish dynamic of passive taking from the partner a sense of real understanding and empathy allows to overcome and take a breath before suffocation and entanglement engulf the partners in an embrace of pink rosy death.

The attachment is close and sometimes too close for comfort. Space is needed to regenerate the sweetness of the first meetings. Another even better option to balance the sugary touch of Venus-Moon is finding a mutual point of affection for some artistic form of expression. These people can do amazing working on an artistic or creative project where their emotions are not an embarrassing cliché. After all, at times the couple can feel or appear a little too close for comfort. They hold a strange power over each other that is not something that can be articulated in words. They both can give what the other wants but also hurt each other deeply if the old wound of abandonment is triggered.

They could probably do so well when combining their energy to nurture and shower beauty on others. Cooking together, designing the home, choosing outfits to wear, having guests over for cake, cuddling in warm blankets in the cold of winter are all Moon-Venus domains.

The Venus person would always gladly take their jacket off their back and cover the pale shoulders of the Moon person. The Moon person would look up with adoring shiny eyes and the Venus person would lean in and kiss their fluttering eyelashes.

Metaphorically of course.

Mars square Pluto in the natal chart

If you have this aspect in your natal chart you are a naturally incredibly tenacious. This aspect like many Pluto aspects is not something other people notice at first glance about you. It is a force that you keep close to your heart and like a magical ace you present it when something triggers you to take action.

Your energy comes from the depths of your physical core and seems to rely on an infinite potential for survival. It can often seem even to you that you do not know where this energy comes from.

Growing up taking any form of assertive action could feel frightening because it awoke some basic animalistic instinct in your heart which you felt was not appropriate or even embarrassing. You have found you are best able to assert yourself with vigor and passion when times are hard. Pushing yourself to the limit is often the only way to access this volcano of passion that is beyond your control.

It is very likely you direct this energy into some form of sport or into your work. If you aren’t directing it to achieve something in the world you would often find yourself in conflict with other people who want to dominate and cage you in a spiritual prison so that you can’t escape and create chaos. You would resist with all your’ might when anyone tries and take away your right to exercise your full strength and ambition.

Ambition is something you are naturally very prone too. You are motivated by the potential to better yourself and gain some form of control over your life. You are not soft hearted and often would step on your own vulnerable parts just to get to the top. The tricky thing with this aspect is that once it ignites in a fire like a huge metal machine it is very hard to calm it down. The reason this is tricky is that other parts of your personality might not be ready to go to war just yet.

You may find yourself often in a state of inner conflict that prevents you from moving forward and achieving anything at all. This comes down to a pretty simple state of fear of what you might create if you go forward. You are not afraid of other people but sometimes you are afraid of yourself and what you are capable of. You might find passion, ambition and drive something you dislike in other people because you reject that part of yourself. It is very important for you to learn what your limits are so that you don’t burn out and end up hurting yourself or someone else.

Children with this aspect do best when they are kept active and allowed to make mistakes. They are the type of child to break a watch to see its machinations and get angry when they find it broken. Pluto likes to destroy in order to understand how something works and Mars like to create new life. If you think about this combination you can realize this aspect suggests these people have an inner drive for life in all forms. They enjoy blood pumping through their veins, sun on their burned skin in summer, the pain of the freezing cold on top of a mountain and the afterglow of endorphins born from pain and strain. They are incredibly good at self-control and have a high tolerance for stress that seems to be based on some inner conviction that they can do anything.

The paradox is that if no situations in their life allow them to exercise their will-power or spiritual muscles they will create the situations in an artificial manner. If life becomes too easy and there is nothing to fight for they would become their own worst enemies. They would try and punish themselves and would feel as if they are controlled by some impulse that is almost evil in its deliciousness. I want to point out this is what happens when you reject Pluto and become the slave of your Mars.

There is nothing wrong or evil about your instincts and impulses but have enough responsibility to take time and learn where and how to express them. You want to create but sometimes you destroy. The opposite is also very true! You often create something powerfully evocative in the psyche of other people. You can inspire others to lean on their instincts and strength and survive anything. It is when you are using your instincts to save life that you become free from the slavery of your own fire.

Saving life doesn’t always mean being a firefighter or surgeon although in many cases that is a popular field for you to end up in. Saving life can mean saving the fire in other people’s hearts. You can’t stand seeing other people become so weak as to stop fighting for their power. You can become an example and activist of living life without apologizes. You can lift the spirit of those who think they have been defeated and that is a wonderful gift.

My advice to you would be to try and write down situations where you felt out of control or that your actions were destructive. Take time to really find a pattern of what is a trigger for you. These situations actually hold the key to your hidden energy. After you figure out what these situations are you would be better prepared for battle. If you feel like you are being eaten alive by an invisible fire it is a good idea to find balance through physical activity. I always suggest to keep your ambitiousness to yourself and just work behind the scenes. This aspect works best when kept safely out of the judgment of others. Unlike the opposition what you have is a battery with infinite potential that is volatile if not directed into something constructively destructive.

Destruction is part of nature and the cycle of life. Life is often born out of the ashes of what came before it. You can reinvent that angry, sullen and chaotic individual that once was yourself and become a creator with a shield of diamond strong will-power. You can also fall from grace when you fall into the trap of thinking humans are just animals. The spiritual side of Pluto wants to elevate the flesh into spirit. The instinctive and raw appetite you have for life, movement, sex, love, work and power can be crystalized into something more nuanced and gentle. The inner protector within you is just waiting to be reborn. It is waiting to wear its past mistakes as dirty metal armor while inside its chest would burn a gentle pure fire of intense protectiveness for all that has a beating heart.

Pluto in the 7th house

Having Pluto in the 7th house means that you encounter your own power through other people. This is a bit similar to having Mars in the 7th house but less out in the open.

You are a person that has been made to reject your own power and your own sense of control over you life. It can often feel growing up that other people are trying to tell you what to do or manage your life in some way. I imagine in my mind the image of a young child star who is being yelled at by their stage mom to go and preform. I also imagine someone who had to learn very young that people don’t always play fair.

Relationships with other people are where you get to feel like you have something about you that is sort of like an invisible fighting spirit. You like to encounter people who challenge you in some psychological manner so that you allow your own muscles to flex and play.

Usually, you go through different extremes in your relationships. Sometimes you get dominated, controlled and even abused in some cases while in other cases you are the one who is in control.

Pluto in the 7th house is a great placement for investigative journalists, lawyers and anyone who works at uncovering the “dirt”  in other people’s lives. You know so very well that everyone has secrets and you can make them talk.

There is an alluring sweet and seductive aura about you that makes you a magnet for all sorts of strange people and situations. You are attractive when you forget who you are and appear vulnerable. And yet! Anyone who dares underestimate you or think you are weak is in for a surprise. You are actually very powerful and capable and have an iron will that grows with age and allows you to do well in many areas.

As with many Pluto placements, there is usually a betterment over time. Early years could be full of conflicts with other people and authority figures. It is not advisable for you to talk about your success in public because you naturally arouse jealousy without meaning.

Pluto has been in scorpio for some time now and so we can assume you are a Taurus rising, at least for some of you readers. You are naturally physically pleasant and grounded in your body. You accept yourself as you are…Skin, fat, scars and all  and wish other people were equally comfortable with their physical self. There is a natural beauty to you that doesn’t need anything artificial. You are sensual in your acceptance of sexuality as one would accept rain and snow. It is magical but natural to you.

In fact, you hate anything that is a lie or like plastic. You like things real, honest and natural and would not tolerate lying for anyone. You can be somewhat blunt and brutal for some types.

If you are still in the hurt stage of your life it could be you would have a hard time trusting anyone. Hopefully, you would grow to reclaim your responsibility to show other people what it is like to live honestly and survive anything. There is something unapologetic about you that seems to be almost feral in nature. It is not seen with open eyes..But if you close your eyes and turn the lights off…You shine like a bright beacon of courage.

Making commitments to another person like in a marriage can be a source of fear for you. You have learned people change and nothing stays the same and can’t imagine anyone being stable enough to accept your own changeable nature. You should probably give it a try and be surprised by the deep love you can have.

Don’t let anyone try and lower you into the gutter. Many people will try and make you cross a line and maybe even worse. Always stick by the laws and do what is right because you could fall from grace through other people, especially if you have an intimate relationship.

But you already know that, don’t you?

That is why you have a fear from getting to close and that is why you must know who is getting under your skin. Relationships change you and allow you to deal with al these feelings of being overpowered. Soon you will step into your own shadow and will see the Sun shine through at a part of you that you kept hidden even from yourself.

You can rule an empire so why are you letting another human rule you?

I want to mention that the 7th house is ruled by Libra and therefore this placement tends to be a bit sweet and light looking on the outside. It is not 8th house dark energy but more sugary. It is not a heavy energy but more of a dark spicy essence that is emitted into the undercurrents and is captivating in its allure.

The focus is about taking the trash out of society and shining light on certain aspects of human engagement, putting the dark dusty corners into the spotlight.

Love is a Battlefield is a Pluto in the 7th house song. I would like to think you would fight for love and the idea that love is something to be taken hold of.

famous examples: Rihanna. Remember Chris Brown? Now all we talk about is her company Fenty.

J. K. Rowling is another example. Writing about the dark side of things and bringing it into the light. She escaped an abusive relationship with her baby daughter and out of her depression wrote a book that changed the world forever.

Composite charts for true long-lasting love

I would like to share my own observations and thoughts on what makes a good composite chart. Many Astrologers don’t see it that way but this has been something I have learned over time and looking at many charts.

A composite chart is a chart of a relationship between two or more people. It is the magical chemistry that happens when two people become connected in a relationship. Personally, I found composite charts to be VERY important if people want to live together or marry.

Getting along or even falling in love with a person is not enough!

Both people are effected by the third entity- the relationship itself. Constant struggles in sex, finances, health, family relations and general quality of life is shown in the composite chart.

I want to say that a composite chart can work or not work depending on the people. The rules are very individual but what is important is that the relationship is significant, strong and long-lasting enough to grow into something. This post would show you examples of good composite charts.

So what do I like seeing in a composite chart of a couple?

Below is one of the best composite charts I have seen. It belongs to Paul and Linda MacCrtaney.

The composite they shared had a SUPER love-stellium of Sun-Venus-Mercury-Chiron and Pluto. That alone is an indicator of soulmates.

Additionally they have Jupiter AND Moon in easy aspect to this cluster of planets. To make this chart even more amazing (Maybe I’m amazed?) they have a second stellium of Saturn-Mars and Uranus. They really have a balance of something unique and creative and yet realistic. Moon conjunct Neptune show real soul mate connection and deep understanding of each other.

They did struggle from some tension between freedom and structure and maybe other people or strange situations trying to break them up. This is a perfect composite chart in every way. It shows hardships but very strong attachment and a bond based on love.

  1. I want to see that your relationship is SIGNIFICANT. This means that all planets form aspects to each other and most importantly that there is at least one conjunction of planets. I don’t want to see planets with only easy aspects and no conjunctions. The best thing for me to see is a three or four planets together or what we call a stellium in astrology. This means this relationship is important and will have effect on the people involved.
  2. I want to see the Sun conjunct Venus, Mercury, Mars or the Moon. The Sun is the life force of the relationship and shows what it is about. I want the sun to have a conjunction to at least Venus. This shows real love and getting-along ability within the relationship. The best relationships have Sun conjunct Venus, Mercury and another planet.
  3. I want a Pluto or Saturn in easy aspect to the stellium or in opposition to it. Yes oppositions are good!
  4. I want Jupiter to have easy aspects to it. This is very important because even if other things in the chart show arguing or other issues in the relationship, a well-placed Jupiter shows the couple can always share a common vision for what they want together. Jupiter also shows that at the end of the day these people are good for one another and this relationship would make them grow in a positive way.I want to see Saturn in a mix of easy and hard aspects. This show this relationship can take formal shape in reality and not just in the fantasy of the lovers. This is a good sign they will make a commitment even if the relationship gets hard. I am not too worried about hard Saturn aspects if there is enough to balance and an element ease to the relationship.I want the Moon to be in a good state. The best is if the Moon is making an easy aspect to the Sun. In some cases, a Moon in opposition to the Sun can also work well. Especially if the Sun is conjunct Venus as mentioned earlier.

What I don’t like seeing for a long-term relationship:

  1. Hard aspects to Neptune and Uranus. This can work great for a creative relationship in the art world but Isn’t good for daily family life. I see this a lot on composite charts of singers and actors. These relationships can feel amazing but are rarely long-lasting. Moon conjunct Uranus or Neptune on the other hand is brilliant in most cases.
  2. I don’t like a Moon that has only hard aspects. This means strong feelings and obsession but no ability to share same space when living together.
  3. I don’t like seeing a composite chart with a Pluto theme if one of the partners is not natally Plutonian.
  4.  I don’t like to see that the composite chart speaks to only one partner. One-sided love is painful.

Another famous couple with an amazing composite chart is Beyonce and Jay-Z.

They have their problems but the composite indicates it is indeed a powerful relationship. Beyonce and Jay-Z share the same thing I keep seeing again and again in long-married couples.

They have SUPER-BIG love stellium in opposition to Mars. Saturn is square the stellium so this one shows a less easy connection but it means they would stay together no matter how hard it gets. They have a less romantic or easy composite compared to McCartney and Linda but it is also more powerful and rare. They have a lot of social power as aa couple as indicated y the focus of planets in Libra and the first house. They have a lot of secret sexual issues creating anger in their psyche as indicated by Mars in the 8th house. This suggests they both act in ways that are unconscious and impulsive and therefore hurtful.

They are also both very independent as indicated by the Venus and Moon conjunction to Uranus. This suggests that together they have sparks of creative energy that is very dynamic. They will stay together a long time as indicated by Saturn that is squaring all this love. They might feel a lot of duty to stay together even if secrets and hardships come up through the mars in the 8th house. What this also means is that being active and making money is an outlet that helps them keep the relationship. The Sun conjunct Moon suggests a real marriage of two souls- male and female. They were meant to be together.

What is the best composite chart you have seen? Do you have any indicators of true love in your composite chart?

To really learn more about composite charts I recommend Robert Hand’s classic book Planets in Composite (1975) . Hand really helped bring the art of composite charts to life and the book is an easy and practical read. You could probably read on your own after reading it.
